What am I doing here? What is my purpose? What is my “tagline”? No, these aren’t the profound, soul-searching questions they seem to be; they are simply the questions I’m asking myself about beginning to blog. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, I’ve just never had the courage. I’ve thought things like “why on earth would anyone care what I have to say?” or “will I even think of the ‘right’ kinds of things to write about?”. I’m not an overly controversial person. I don’t like online arguments and I 100% don’t think that my opinion is even necessary in most instances. But, I do have a lot of thoughts, I have a lot of feelings, I have a lot of empathy, and I am a decent writer, so why not? Plus, I can think of at least five whole people who would read it out of obligation :). Stay tuned as I dare to be transparent, dare to question, dare to opine, and dare to, well, be Des (whatever that means).
